Recently, modern science has validated the remarkable health benefits of this fruit, and studies have shown acai to contain the following beneficial nutrients:

Modern science has now validated the remarkable wellness benefits of the acai fruit. As a whole food by itself, the berry would provide a remarkable source of complete protein, healthy fats, and essential vitamins and minerals. Among the reported benefits/features of this deep purple berry are: • High levels of dietary fiber • High levels of essential amino acids and trace minerals • High levels of plant sterols • Essential fatty acids ratio that resembles olive oil • Protein profile similar to eggs • Very low sugar content • High levels of antioxidants. Studies have also shown that freeze-dried acai powder has an ORAC score that is 79 times higher than that of red grapes and an anthocyanin (purple colored antioxidants) level that is 20 - 30 times that of red wine. The final blend of MonaVie incorporates the flavors and benefits of the acai berry and 18 other healthful and delicious fruits. Start drinking MonaVie Now and see the Amaging Health Benefits!

BILBERRIES
The Bilberry is a close relative of the blueberry and is noted for its phytonutrient content. Bilberry fruit and its extracts contain a number of biologically active components, including a class of compounds called anthocyanosides which are potent antioxidants.
BLUEBERRIES
Blueberries are an antioxidant powerhouse. They contain large amounts of health-promoting phytochemicals such as anthocyanins and phenolics, currently being studied for their antioxidant benefits. Besides antioxidants, blueberries contain condensed tannins, and they offer a great lineup of nutrients like potassium and iron, as well as being an excellent source of Vitamin C.
CAMU CAMU BERRY (Rumberry)
The Camu camu (Myrciaria dubia), also known as CamuCamu, Cacari, and Camocamo, is a small bushy river side tree from the Amazon Rainforest of Peru and Brazil, which bears a red/purple cherry like fruit.
CRANBERRIES
Cranberries are rich in many phytonutrients and proanthocyanidins (PACs), including important tannins and Vitamin C. Cranberries contain high amounts of vitamins, minerals, organic acids and various other phytonutrients. Cranberries are a good source of vitamin A, C, B complex, Folic Acid and Fiber. It has been cultivated in China for well over a thousand years, and would no doubt have been a keenly sought after forest fruit in subtropical Sino-Vietnamese Asia. At 72mg of vitamin C per 100 grams of flesh, lychees are a very good source for this essential vitamin, as well as potassium and other nutrients.
NASHI PEARS

Little is known about their origin...its estimated that they began appearing at least 3,000 years ago in China. Nashi pears are a great source of dietary fiber, and they’re also very high in potassium and other essential minerals. They contain nearly 10% of the USRDA for Vitamin C, and a high concentration of folates, which make up the Vitamin B complex group.
PASSION FRUIT
Passion fruit is rich in vitamins, minerals and fiber, including: calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, sodium and sulphur and B Vitamins. The legend of passion fruit dates back to Biblical time and rainforest natives have for generations used Passion fruit juice.

The Process

MonaVie takes great care at each step in production to ensure that the highest quality standards are met.

(Harvesting) The process begins with the harvesting of the acai berry deep within the Amazon River basin. Unlike poachers, who illegally chop down an entire tree just to harvest a 12-inch section of the tree know as the palmito (or "heart of the palm"), our conservative harvesting method removes only the acai berries, thereby preserving the life of the tree and promoting the preservation of the rainforest.

(Processing) Acai is a delicate fruit and much of its vitamin and nutrient content can be lost within 48 hours of harvesting. Once harvested, our acai is immediately processed into our patent-pending, freeze-dried formula, maintaining its beneficial properties. The final acai blend contains the benefits of both freeze-dried acai and frozen acai pulp, which contains the fruit's flesh, skin, and seed. By pureeing each fruit in its entirety, the full complement of nutrients is captured.

(Formulation and bottling) Most companies use a process known as kettle pasteurization. This process involves heating the formula for several hours and can inadvertently "cook out" much of the nutritional properties. However, MonaVie uses flash pasteurization in which the formula is rapidly heated, bottled, and cooled, thereby capturing the fresh flavors, vibrant colors, and dense nutrient content of the blend.

The Science. Each step of this advanced and unique process takes place under the watchful eyes of our industry leading product development team and scientific advisors.

*ORAC:
An Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity (ORAC) score is a test tube analysis that measures the antioxidant levels of food and other chemical substances. If a food has a high ORAC score, then it means the food is high in antioxidants. The antioxidant's strength is its ability to eliminate oxygen free radicals. With the ORAC score, a higher score means the food is better at helping us fight diseases.

Foods with a high ORAC score may be able to protect cells and their components from oxidative damage. Oxygen radicals are chemicals that form naturally inside the body through the process of oxidation.
